Placing Your Word On ‘Repeat’

| written by Brent Dumler | 0 comments

I’m a creative type. I have been a member of this #OneWord365 community for about 5 years now, and I’ve always greeted each December with much anticipation. Simply because it provided me an annual opportunity to discover, create, and process a NEW WORD. So as I was heading into 2019 I found myself slightly disappointed that I would not be flexing my CREATIVE MUSCLES this time.

BUT….God’s ways and timing are ALWAYS perfect. Meaning, they are BETTER than mine.

My word for 2018 was ‘MOMENTS.’ I used it as a hashtag in my social media posts as a constant reminder to live into each moment of each day. This mindset has empowered me to not take for granted even the shortest of moments.

Now, I fully anticipate my #OneWord365 for 2020 to be something completely new. Something I’ve never focused on in the past. But for this year, God has CLEARLY directed me to repeat my reflection of #MOMENTS.

We never want to repeat our #OneWord365 for simplicity because we all have busy lives. Bypassing the incredible process of seeking, listening, and discerning God’s voice for the RIGHT WORD would be a real travesty. HOWEVER, if we are truly listening and God is leading us to repeat a season with the same word we really should practice obedience.

“Consider repeating something if it will continue leading you to personal growth.”

Have YOU repeated a word, or even revisited one from past years? What was your EXPERIENCE?
