Hope: Moe Vivas

| written by Alece Ronzino | 3 comments

Early this year, I took Alece’s One Word challenge. The blessed opportunity to look at life through the lens of “Hope“. I was a young foolish blogger. I didn’t know much about community, writing, imagination or perseverance. I thought I was going to easily accomplish this.

What I failed to understand was that I didn’t exactly know what to “hope” for. Was I hoping for a miracle? Becoming a better writer? A ministry? I wasn’t sure, I just knew that I chose “hope”.

Three months later, I grew frustrated and didn’t know how to define this hope. I gave up and put my focus elsewhere.

As the year was coming to a close, I personally apologized to Alece for not following up with my One Word, but promised to write a wrap-up.

After trying over and over to put something on paper, I came up empty. Then it hit me. I’m looking too hard. All this time, I was looking at hope as if it was an object to be looked at. Hope is a lot bigger than that. It’s what leads me to my knees to seek, ask and knock. Hope is what has kept me writing, tweeting, making friends close and far.
