One Worder and artist, Aletheia Schmidt, painted a depiction of her word for this year: Intimacy. And it was too beautiful not to share!
She titled the piece Spirit Come Down, and penned these thoughts to accompany it:
:: :: ::
It’s always been about us.
But some times I’ve known it more than others.
And at the beginning of this year, as my heart heard the invitation of intimacy, I’ve known it like never before.
So, Spirit, would you come down?
Would you reign down?
This is my desire, too.
Aletheia Schmidt (M.A., Spiritual Director) has been making new things from old things for most of her life, but in January of 2012, she began calling herself an artist. Stepping away from the security of a regular paycheck, she considers herself blessed with the chance of a lifetime to venture into a season of exploration and deep courage. Aletheia is in the midst of pursuing her love of painting and longs for opportunities to share how the arts, imagination, and creativity offer life. She specializes in work with yupo paper and acrylic inks and provides a safe and encouraging space to explore and expand one’s understanding of self, others, and Spirit. She teaches and shares every chance she gets, working with individuals and groups, youth and adults.
