Fully Fixed on Jesus

Sometimes the noise inside my soul reverberates like a clanging gong. The voices of expectations of people pulling me this way and that, doctors appointments to go to, and family members to care for, can sometimes seem overwhelming. However, as I have taken time to be quiet these past few weeks the Lord has been teaching me something, I don’t have to listen to, or become overwhelmed by whatever crosses my path. The only thing that I need to be focusing on is Jesus.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

You see, I don’t need to take on the burden of walking this road alone, none of us do. When we accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior it’s He that lives inside us. When we walk down the path roads of uncertainty, we find freedom in having faith and giving it all up to Him.

My one word for 2013 is Jesus. It’s my desire to live a life that’s fully fixed on Him. I want my eyes, heart, and mind directed towards His ways, in doing so I pray that my actions will be like His as well. I want people to see Jesus inside me; I want them to know that there is something different about me. I want others to see Jesus’ love in my life and in turn desire to grow closer to Him as well.

“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1

It’s a new year, and a time for fresh starts. It’s always exciting to stand at the beginning of a journey and move step by step with the Father by our sides, just waiting to see how the story will unfold. Join me as we walk this road of life together as the body Christ, moving forward with one common purpose in mind, which is glorifying His name in our lives.
